Cookie Policy

What This Policy Covers
SparkShift uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our website to keep you signed in, secure forms and sessions, remember preferences, and, if you allow it, understand how visitors use the site. This policy explains those technologies and your choices.
This Cookie Policy applies to the website. Mobile-app analytics and attribution preferences are managed in the app under Settings > Privacy and are described in our Privacy Policy.
How We Use Cookies and Similar Storage
- Essential cookies: Needed for authentication, security, fraud prevention, and core site functionality.
- Preference storage: Remembers settings such as theme or guest preview limits.
- Analytics cookies: Loaded only after you allow analytics cookies on the website.
SparkShift does not currently load website analytics until you make an affirmative choice. We do not currently enable website session recording by default.
Examples of Cookies and Storage Keys We Use
| Cookie or Storage Key | Purpose | Typical Duration |
|---|---|---|
| AuthToken / AuthToken.sig | Keeps signed-in users authenticated on the website | Up to 7 days |
| __csrf_token | Protects forms and API requests against cross-site request forgery | Up to 24 hours |
| sparkshift-theme | Remembers your preferred theme | Until you clear it or change your preference |
| sparkshift-cookie-consent | Stores your analytics cookie choice for this browser | Until you change your preference |
| sparkshift_test_prep_guest_preview | Tracks guest preview usage limits for public test-prep pages | Limited-time guest session |
PostHog analytics identifiers (for example, ph_*_posthog) | Measure page views and feature usage after you allow analytics cookies | Varies by browser and analytics settings |
Names can vary by browser, device, or deployment. The examples above describe the categories of technologies we currently use on the website.
Third-Party Services
SparkShift may rely on third-party providers for infrastructure, authentication, hosted checkout, diagnostics, or analytics. Those providers may set or access their own cookies or similar storage when their services are used.
- Firebase and related Google services: authentication and application infrastructure
- Stripe-hosted billing flows: secure checkout and subscription management for web-billed plans
- PostHog: website analytics after you allow analytics cookies
Manage Your Preferences
You can control analytics cookies from this page. Essential cookies remain active because the site needs them for authentication, security, and core functionality.
Analytics cookie preference
Checking your current preference for this browser...
Essential cookies remain active because the site needs them for authentication, security, and core functionality. Changing this preference reloads the page so the analytics setting takes effect immediately.
- Browser controls: Most browsers let you refuse, limit, or delete cookies and local storage.
- Sign-out or private browsing: Signing out or using a private window may clear some session-based data.
- Device settings: Mobile operating systems may offer additional privacy controls for app-level tracking and permissions.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our data practices. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
